Common Stuck Moments in EFT: From Explaining to Engaging
presentation by Michael Barnett
ICEEFT Certified Trainer, ACEFT Founder & Director
So, here you are, the Externship and all of its jewels and Gems bubbling within you. You are excited about EFT, and brimming with the anticipation of rolling up your sleeves and getting into the process with your couples armed with this new, amazing approach to Couples therapy. Jumping right in, you feel the flow, and are amazed at the impact this has on your couples. But, as time passes, weeks go by, and although you are THINKING EFT, it becomes difficult to DO EFT the way you know that it can be possible.
Conceptually, you are on point – You really get this stuff. It resonates deeply for you. Yet, the execution of it becomes so challenging. You ae in the right place, yet something isn’t quite engaging your couples, inviting them into the EXPERIENCE of their Cycle. What is going on?
If this feels familiar, you ae not alone. Often times, your intuition and framework for what is occurring are spot on, and with a few adjustments, you will be actually able to move your couples into the emotional experience that drives their system into disconnection.
Join us for our next ACEFT Community Gathering when Michael Barnett will be offering insights, helpful tips and encouraging support for moving "From Explaining to Engaging."

More about the series, Common Stuck Moments in EFT...
Whether fresh off an Externship or more experienced in the model, The Atlanta Center for EFT (ACEFT) invites you to join us for a series of ACEFT sponsored Community Meetings aimed at helping you “unstick” common stuck points in couple therapy – those moments when we want to help move our couples into re-connection but distracting content or difficult emotion seem to be getting in the way. This series of presentations offers insights into making EFT work more seamlessly for you and your couples, improving your ability to stay out of content, utilize emotion in powerful ways, and guiding couples toward experiencing themselves and each other differently - all in the service of creating a secure and lasting attachment. Join us at our next Gathering!
